I’m migrating to Substack

Earlier this year, I created a Facebook page to mark the 10th anniversary of myself being a sports storyteller.

I also thought about putting up the platform so I can have a semi-permanent archive of my work and so I can collate everything else behind the scenes through social media.

Working post-pandemic has been quite challenging and fun. My colleagues know me as a freelance journalist who submits stories to various media organizations, with Sports Bytes and ABS-CBN being the most recent. I also do announcing on the side and football commentary for the Philippines Football League, the Azkals, and the Filipinas.

I’ve been extremely fortunate to still be in the business after a decade. To keep the momentum going, I am migrating to Substack for game recaps, full-blown features, and more.

Reportage has changed a lot throughout the years, and I’m honestly still trying to figure out what “sports journalism” should look like in this era — where everything has gone digital but “traditional” elements are still of importance, significance, and relevance.

That’s exactly why I’ve “rebranded” my social media pages, if you’ve been keeping tabs.

I’m excited to continue writing on behalf of amazing athletes, teams, leagues, and more. There’s just so much more stories to write about them, and I get fulfillment from doing so every time a story gets published.
